This Privacy Policy applies to both companion applications published by Syed Danish ("we", "us", "our"):
These apps work together to provide real-time school van/transport tracking and safety coordination between parents, drivers, and schools.
A. Parent Account Information
Full name, phone number, email address.
B. Student / Child Information
Child's full name, grade/class/section, roll number, student ID or unique registration ID.
C. Location Data
Real-time vehicle GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, speed, heading, accuracy, and timestamp) while a trip is active. Home address (street address and coordinates) for pickup/drop scheduling. School name and address (coordinates) for route and geofencing purposes. Pickup/drop geofence points (home pickup/drop location, school gate location).
D. Trip & Attendance Status
Live trip state (e.g., pickup scheduled, picked up, dropped at school, returning home, dropped home, absent) and historical trip records (start time, end time, distance traveled, completion status).
E. Driver & Vehicle Information
Driver name, driver phone number, driver unique ID/code, profile photo (if provided), vehicle number plate, and vehicle model/type. This information is shown to parents so they can identify and verify the driver responsible for their child's transport.
F. Emergency & Safety Contacts
Secondary guardian name, secondary contact phone number, and relationship to the child, used specifically to enable emergency (SOS) alerts. If an SOS alert is triggered, we log the timestamp and GPS coordinates at the moment of the alert.
G. Notifications
Notification content (title, message, type, timestamp, read status) sent to keep parents informed about trip status, delays, or alerts. We also collect device push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens, both web and native Android) required to deliver notifications to your device.
H. App Preferences
Your in-app notification settings (e.g., sound alerts on/off, arrival proximity alerts, push notification preferences).
We use the above information solely to:

Location, trip status, and driver/vehicle information are shared exclusively between the assigned driver and the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the children on that specific van/route, and with the affiliated school administrator (if applicable), strictly for transport coordination purposes.
We use Google Firebase (Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions) as our backend infrastructure, and Google Maps Platform to display maps and calculate routes. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
We do not share your information with any third party for their own marketing or commercial purposes. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of a child in an emergency.
Van Uncle is designed to be used by parents/guardians and licensed drivers, not directly by children. Child information (name, class, roll number, pickup/drop location) is entered and managed by the parent/guardian or school administrator. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.
We retain trip history, notification logs, and account information for as long as your account remains active, or as required to provide the service, and for a reasonable period afterward for safety and dispute-resolution records. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7).
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored using Google Firebase's secured cloud infrastructure with access-controlled database rules restricting data visibility to authorized parents, drivers, and administrators only.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data (including your child's information) at any time by contacting us at vanunclemst@gmail.com. We will respond and act on verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.
